My long-term research interests involve exploring the relationship between the environment/diet and pathways in arrhythmogenesis, or the biological process by which cardiac arrhythmias develop.
Robert Koeth, MD, PhD, is Associate Staff in Cardiovascular Medicine, part of the Sydell and Arnold Miller Family Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute. He is also a Clinical Assistant Professor of Molecular Medicine in the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University.
He has contributed to numerous articles in high-impact journals including Circulation, the Journal of Clinical Investigation and Nature Medicine around the connection between the gut microbiome and cardiovascular conditions like atrial fibrillation and heart failure. In addition to leading a lab in Cleveland Clinic Research, he also sees patients at Cleveland Clinic's Main Campus.
